Lavatory 是一个最普通和正式的表达方式，在飞机上经常看到。在非正式英语中，住宅中的厕所也可以用
cloakroom住宅楼下附加的厕所。
Loo 英式英语，俚语词，可能来自Waterloo,抽水马桶品牌，或直接来自拟声词，抽水马桶冲水声。
WC 是water closet的首字母缩写，常备用于指公共厕所。尤用于公共厕所的标记。
